There is a post on Slashdot (A Simple Plan To Defeat Dumb Patents) that suggests that one way to fight against patents that are not sufficiently innovational would be for the technical blogosphere to get in the habit of documenting "obvious" ideas in blog posts, and then using a canonical Technorati tag ('prior art') so that an Atom (or RSS) feed could be used to collect a large body of published prior art.

I think it's a terrific idea. But it needs a name, and it needs to go even further than what's proposed on Slashdot.
