Steel is one of the rare Medicine Wheels directly attributed to an historical event - in this case to memorialize a first nations warrior.

Site Plan & Local Topography:


Setting:        Located near the St.. Mary’s River as it flows through the Blood Indian Reserve north of Spring Coulee.

Brief:             A 9m diameter stone circle with a 1m opening to the east.. The opening is flanked by larger stones than the 77 rocks making the circle. Within the circle are two smaller 1m diameter circles made of 14 stones each.

Design:        Built around 1940 to memorialize a Blood Indian.
