MANY ISLAND LAKE Site: EbOm-1
Type: Medicine Wheel - Group 1 Status: Undisturbed
Region: Alberta, Canada Location: (protected)*
Record: Survey (protected)* File: (protected)*
Site Plan & Local Topography:

Setting: On gently undulating prairie near the edge of bluffs overlooking Many Islands Lake basin.
Brief: A 2.5m diameter, 0.20m high, central cairn encircled by a deeply-buried oval circle. Six spokes radiate from the circle out to between 18 and 135m. The spokes aren't straight and don't terminate in cairns. At least two other spokes lie to the SE but do not connect with the circle. Shorter stone lines bifurcate from the spokes. Many small stone rings and cairns are in the vicinity.
Design: Many Island Lake is a large, complexly-featured site. The degree to which it remains undisturbed provides an opportunity for a much more detailed mapping and analysis program.
