MOOSE MOUNTAIN                                                Site:        DkMq-2

Type:         Medicine Wheel - Group 1                       Status:         Partly Disturbed

Region:     Saskatchewan, Canada                            Location:    (protected)*

Record:    Aligned Plan (protected)*                         File:             (protected)*

Site Plan & Local Topography:

Setting:       Caps the highest hill in the neighbourhood, with impressive views of the surrounding know and kettle moraine to the north and east, and the flat grassland to the south and west.

Brief:           A large central cairn surrounded by a heart-shaped circle of stones, with five stone spokes radiating to terminal cairns.

Design:       Visually perhaps the most provocative of Medicine Wheels, Moose Mountain exhibits bold features with sufficient internal variability to encourage imaginative interpretations. At least three of the spokes, however may be simply approximately cardinal, or crossed, and the apparent variability could easily be an artifact of casual on-the-ground construction rather than intentional in-the-plan patterning.
