The Mobile MUSE Network is an applied research consortium serving as an innovation engine and "community VC" for a mobile media industry in British Columbia and Canada. I founded and lead this collaboration of corporate, community, government and academic organizations in the street-level R&D of mobile media that pioneer new forms of social interaction, cultural expression and business process. Mobile MUSE incubates new ventures and builds broader capacities for mobile media in anticipation of the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver.

The second phase of the innovations (MUSE2 :: 2005-2007) was focused on creating an "urban mesh" - making it simple and economical for cultural and community creators to 'go mobile' with audience engagements. MUSE2 produced an advanced mobile services platform and four showcase cultural media implementations.
The third phase (MUSE3 :: 2007-2009) focused on "community generated media" - the ability to engage crowd participation in major public events using giant display screens and social media applications. Showcase projects were deployed at Whistler and in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside.
The fourth phase (MUSE4) focused on the experience economy is in development.
