2002 - 2004 :: CHIEF RESEARCH OFFICER, New Media Innovation Centre (NewMIC)
David Vogt in VogtStream
Understanding the whole innovation ecosystem, from small companies to large companies, and from universities to governments, is incredibly important.
Copied from VogtStream on 25 Jan 2009
NewMIC was established in 2001 to conduct collaborative pre-commercial research in strategic new media technology areas. Primary corporate investors included TELUS, Nortel, SONY, Electronic Arts and Sierra Wireless. Innovative research projects were conducted by industry experts together with scientists and students from British Columbia's leading academic institutions. As Chief Research Officer I designed and implemented all R&D programs and commissioned NewMIC's state-of-the-art research facilities. NewMIC closed in 2004 due to adverse conditions related to the technology downturn.
