Tourism, especially within the context of a resort community like Whistler, is ideal for social-mobile media applications.

DTDM is an innovation partnership of BC’s resort, new media and wireless industries to enhance visitor engagement using social and mobile media technologies. DTDM is a strategic extension of Mobile MUSE Network innovation programs.

Following the 2010 Olympic Games, Whistler will become host to a new business-directed testbed dedicated to:

1.     improved interactive resort experience to support in-resort marketing;

2.     incremental revenue streams for the resort industry;

3.     new global opportunities for BC’s resort, new media and wireless sectors; and

4.     expanded services and enhanced business models for visitor engagement.

This project is on hold pending conclusion of the 2010 Games and reorganization of the Tourism operations of the province.
