The Loon Lake Program is a revolutionary approach to professional development for teachers related to science.  The Program combines science-shy teachers with exceptional science-communicators in a wilderness environment in order to engage with the essense and opportunities of science education in a natural environment.  The program was originally prototyped with First Nations teachers in the interior of British Columbia and then moved to Loon Lake in the Malcolm Knapp research forest in southwestern BC.  I conceived, designed, obtained funding and implemented the first many years of the program, which eventually became a national program and continues to run today.
