In the 1980's the local press called me "Dr. Doom" for always being interviewed about the dangers of earthquakes, volcanoes, etc.

I commissioned exhibits and displays for the Lower Mainland Seismic Array, gravity stations, and additional geophysical datasets to create the UBC Geophysical Observatory.  I also developed public, teaching and media programs related to geophysical science and news.
